An Insight into Female EFL Learners’ Difficulties and Needs in Writing: The Case of Secondary High Schools in Saudi Arabia

Curriculum development has been carried out to improve English as a Foreign Language (EFL) courses in Saudi public schools; however, EFL learners still have difficulties writing. This study examines the that female face writing secondary high schools. The also aims identify 12th grade learners’ needs improving their skills. research findings might help curriculum designers and teachers make improvements meet needs. participants were 216 studying schools Jeddah. A questionnaire including closed items on Likert scale one open-ended question used collect data, which then analysed quantitatively qualitatively. results illustrate main are mechanics, use of proper vocabulary, organization texts. Additionally, expressed suggestions for skills related specific they face.
